Bernese Water Dogs
We have a love for dogs and it’s our mission to find our puppies a loving forever home, where they will be cherished…
Why choose our BWD as your new family companion
We are a small hobby breeder of Bernese Water Dogs, a new designer breed that combines the delightful qualities of the Portuguese Water Dog and the Bernese Mountain Dog. Our dogs are known for their friendly nature and are excellent companions for children, making them a wonderful addition to any family. You get the benefits of the calmer side of the BMD but yet the friendly, intelligent side of the PWD… They are hyper-allergenic and non-shedding and you have the benefits of the softness of the coat from the BMD… They have webbed feet for faster swimming and enhancing their swimming ability making them particularly adept in the water… Our puppies are 75% Portuguese Water Dog (PWD) and 25% being Bernese Mountain Dog (BMD). This is due to their mother being a new designer breed of both PWD and BMD, while their father is a purebred PWD. As a result, the puppies exhibit more characteristics and traits associated with the Portuguese Water Dog breed. They have far less medical issues and enjoy a much longer lifespan compared to the BMD. For more information about Bernese Water Dogs, click on the Learn More…

They are hypoallergenic and possess a stunning, shiny coat that sheds significantly less than that of a Bernese Mountain Dog. You will enjoy the softness of the BMD's coat while benefiting from reduced shedding. Grooming is typically required every six to eight weeks, with additional brushing as needed.

Our puppies will be dewormed and receive their first vaccination, along with a Veterinarian Health Check Certificate, prior to going to their new homes around eight weeks of age. We are committed to raising healthy puppies, and as part of our dedication, we offer to take back puppies and assist with re-homing if any issues arise. However, in our extensive experience of raising puppies, we have never had a return due to health concerns.

The Portuguese Water Dog has a history that dates back to the days of ancient seafarers, where it was used by fishermen in Portugal for herding fish and retrieving….
The Bernese Mountain Dog originated in Switzerland, where it was bred in the Bern region for various tasks such as herding, pulling carts, and guarding farms.
